We’re so pleased to announce that our Operations Manager, Liam Byrne, scooped the Young Freight Forwarder of the Year Award 2015 at the British International Freight Association (BIFA) awards on Thursday 21 January.

Four members of the ACC team, including Liam, went to the Award Ceremony in London to find out the results of being shortlisted for two awards – both Young Freight Forwarder of the Year, and European Logistics award. We are pleased to have been runners up in the European Logistics award, and we are over the moon with Liam’s win.

Liam, who has been with us since 2013, supports Carl Pickett in running the operations department and has a background in the freight business. This is especially great news as Carl was also shortlisted for this prestigious award back in 2000.

Liam’s win also puts him through as the UK candidate for the FIATA/ TT Club Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award 2016.

The awards, which are now in their 27th year, saw a huge number of businesses put through a rigorous judging process, with just 44 finalists represented across eleven categories.

Carl Pickett, Managing Director of ACC commented: “We’re so pleased to have had ACC recognised in this way. To be shortlisted for not one, but two BIFA Freight Awards was a fantastic achievement. The team at ACC are very dedicated to what they do and I am especially proud to see Liam’s hard work acknowledged in this way.”

Robert Keen, BIFA’s Director General, added: “The awards encourage entries from small, medium and large companies, with the goal of identifying the highest standards of quality across the British freight forwarding and logistics sector. Every year Members tell us that they benefit from the process of application. Often in compiling the entry, managers and staff learn better ways of doing things. I would like to thank all the entrants and wish the finalists every success.”
